Saturday, June 25: Awards Dinner and Installation of officers at Caddo Offices Reimagined in McKinney (NOTE THIS IS A CHANGE OF EVENT LOCATION), 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Cost is $50 per person due to Steve Barotta, Treasurer, with Venmo (collincountyrotary@gmail.com) or mail a check to Steve at 5200 Lake Crest, McKinney, TX 75071 by June 21. (Please RSVP to Evite invitation so that we know who is coming and who is not.)

Our Rotary club has a license for ClubRunner to host the www.collincountyrotary.org website. The website has both public information and private documents for officers and members. ClubRunner also maintains each member's profile, making it important for members to keep their data current. The mobile app CR is a ready tool for communicating to club leaders and members. Data for the CR app is pulled from the ClubRunner profile. Access is also available on the CR app for info on all 64 clubs in District 5810 as well as District officers.

Imagine Rotary! President Jeff will give an overview of the new Rotary year and some of the goals of Collin County Rotary Club. Be there to hear President Jeff and help in whatever way you can to help accomplish these goals.

District 5810 Governor, Howard Templin, will make his official visit to our Rotary club. Governor Howard will present the District 5810 plan for 2022-23 and how our club can help make it a successful plan.

Join us for our monthly Happy Hour, this time on the First Thursday of the month because we are working the flag-lease program earlier in the afternoon. Meet us a Foxii's Restaurant & Grill in Historic Downtown McKinney at 6:30 PM; 301 E Virginia St #103, McKinney, TX 75069. Be there.

Our usual First Thursday club meeting will be held on Third Thursday of September due to a conflict with our participation with the flag-lease program. The program will be held at Dodies Cajun Allen (in their boardroom), 190 E Stacy Rd., Ste 1320, Allen, TX 75002, at 5:30 PM. Guests will be welcomed.

Brandi Lewis serves as the Senior Director of Partner Impact for Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County (BGCCC). In this role, she has the pleasure of joining the BGCCC leadership team in architecting an array of innovative programs, expanding partnerships, and driving impact. Prior to joining BGCCC, Brandi lived in Indiana where she gained nearly twenty years of nonprofit experience with youth-serving organizations. Through those years, she developed a strong passion for empowering others, improving the lives of all young people, and serving her community. Brandi holds a BA in Communication and an M.B.A., both from Purdue University, and is a devoted member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Brandi proudly lives in Frisco, Texas with her husband and three children.

Dick Corcoran is a seasoned professional with 40 years of non-profit experience that began in the Fundraising Department, of the United Way in Cleveland Ohio.  A high-level performer with the Circle Ten Council BSA, he extended the Scouting Program in rural, suburban, and urban areas. Improved the quality of both Council and District events.  Played a significant role in affecting the Council Budget through enhancements to the Friends of Scouting Campaign/Annual Giving and the Council’s special events.  Service to volunteers improved with the development of a satellite office and a new Scouting Center in the Town Of Fairview, Texas.

Dick was added to the Habitat for Humanity of Collin County team in August of 2020.  He began his work at Habitat by serving as the Grants Coordinator.  On November 1, 2021, he began his current position with Habitat as the Planned Giving Coordinator.

Marzella Tyson is the Chief Executive Officer of Meals on Wheels Collin County where she also served as the Director of Operations prior to becoming the CEO.  She holds a Master’s in Public Health from Southern Connecticut State University, with 20 years’ experience in non-profit leadership impacting at-risk and disenfranchised populations. In Texas, she served as the Director of Programs for Interfaith Housing Coalition for homeless families, Executive Director for Pedi place for medically underserved children, and oversaw the distribution of millions of dollars towards in-community programming for the National Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Marzella spent a decade implementing public health and social programs in the New England by working with governmental municipalities, prominent educational institutions (such as Yale University School of Public Health, State of Connecticut) and faith-based partners i.e. Teen Challenge and HUD. These programs helped improve the quality of life for at risk families, pregnant women, and children.  After becoming the Director of Alcohol and Drug Prevention for the City of New Haven Connecticut, she helped design a citywide continuum of care with indicators of success, to support individuals with addiction.  Marzella went on to become the Director of an Intermediate Sanctions Program in Connecticut to help rehabilitate probationary and parolees in need of employment and crisis management.  In order to impact policy and be a change agent, she served as the Associate Director of Family Services for the Connecticut Association for Human Services in Hartford, CT. Here she advocated for state healthcare access and early preschool immunizations for medically underserved children.  Marzella was featured on hundreds of Connecticut PSA billboards and radio to promote AIDS education and a statewide hotline though INFOLINE, a crisis intervention and suicide prevention information and referral network through United Way. 

Jill Scigliano is the CEO at The Samaritan Inn in McKinney, Texas. Joining the team in 2021, Jill was excited to move back to the local McKinney area, having formerly been a resident of McKinney. Jill’s passion for nonprofit service and leadership, coupled with a desire to enable fellow neighbors build a more stable life made for a perfect match.

Jill was formerly the Executive Director of the Residential program at My Possibilities, serving those with intellectual and developmental disabilities find permanent housing solutions. She also formerly worked with Wise Resource Development as an independent consultant for nonprofits and startups. Previous to that, Jill was the Chief Operating Officer for The Dallas Entrepreneur Center (The DEC), a nonprofit created to help entrepreneurs create, build and grow their businesses.
